As we have said, the first season adapted the first two narrative arcs – the Moebius arc and the Valhalla arc. This means that there are three more arcs to adapt – the Black Dragons arc, the Tenjiku arc, and the Final arc. The second season will adapt the “Christmas Showdown” Arc, as we have stated. What follows is a general overview of the manga’s plot.
After returning to the present, Takemichi discovers once again that the Tokyo Manji Gang has turned into a large-scale criminal organization, and Hinata and her friends are killed once more, while Draken is framed for a murder he did not commit.
When Takemichi travels to the past, he learns that Hakkai Shiba is forced to leave the Tokyo Manji Gang and join the Black Dragons under the orders of his abusive older brother, Taiju, their current leader, an event that affects the merger of the Tokyo Manji Gang with the Black Dragons.
Mitsuya makes a deal with Taiju in which he will allow Hakkai to unite on the condition that Yuzuha, the Shiba brothers’ sister, no longer works for the Black Dragons, nor will Taiju be allowed to assault her. Takemichi asks the Tokyo Manji Gang for help, but they refuse to intervene, as breaking the agreement would reflect badly on Mitsuya.
However, he and Chifuyu reluctantly manage to get help from Kisaki and Hanma. Together, they deduce that Hakkai plans to assassinate Taiju on December 24, 2005. On December 24, Takemichi confronts Taiju, but discovers that Kisaki and Hanma had betrayed and abandoned him.
However, Chifuyu escapes and asks Mitsuya for help in defeating Taiju. After inadvertently preventing Taiju’s death, Takemichi realizes that in the original timeline, Yuzuha had killed him after being coerced by Kisaki, prompting Hakkai to take the blame for her and be forced to follow her instructions.
Takemichi convinces Hakkai to face Taiju to save Yuzuha, and with the timely arrival of Mikey and Draken, the Black Dragons are defeated. The Black Dragons are absorbed into the Tokyo Manji Gang. Upon learning of Kisaki’s betrayal, Mikey removes him from his group.
By the time Takemichi returns to the present, Kisaki becomes a member of Tenjiku, who absorbed the Tokyo Manji Gang and left Mikey demoralized to the point of killing all of his friends. While Takemichi and Naoto investigate Tenjiku, they are both mortally wounded and Takemichi travels back in time before they both die.
Hinata eventually discovers that the Takemichi she encounters is from a tragic future where she and the rest of Takemichi’s friends were killed by Kisaki’s machinations. Takemichi learns that Tenjiku’s leader, Izana Kurokawa, is a distant relative of the Sano, and holds a grudge against Mikey out of jealousy, especially when Shinichiro names Mikey as the true leader of the Black Dragons.
Kakucho, who was secretly asked by Takemichi to save Izana from himself, feels awkward that Izana teams up with someone as unreliable and suspicious as Kisaki and Shuji Hanma. Before the date of their fight, on February 22, 2006, known as the “Kanto Incident”, Takemichi loses the support of the captains, as Mitsuya and Fourth Division Captain Nahoya Kawata are seriously injured, while the Fifth division captain Yasuhiro Muto joins Tenjiku.
Izana orders Kisaki to murder Mikey’s half-sister Emma, leaving him and Draken disheartened. However, Takemichi gathers the rest of the Tokyo Manji Gang to fight Tenjiku. Mikey and Draken eventually learn from Hinata about Takemichi’s time-jumping ability and his desperate missions to undo a tragic future caused by Kisaki.
When Kakucho made his move to prevent Izana from going too far just for his selfish gain, Kisaki purposely shot Kakucho in front of Izana, causing the Tenjiku leader to realize that despite not being related to the Sano family nor Kakucho allows himself to sacrifice his life to save his only best friend and brother in arms, and reveal to Mikey that he was actually adopted by the Sano family.
With no more Tenjiku, many of the five executives surrender to him. Both Kisaki and Hanma are confirmed to have actually been accomplices manipulating entire events just out of the former’s selfish obsession with Hinata and for ruining the lives of Takemichi and many others in the future futures.
Just when Takemichi gets angry about how Kisaki killed Hina just because she rejected his marriage proposal for the future, Kisaki finally meets his death from being hit by a heavy truck before telling Takemichi that he is not another time jumper.
After Emma’s funeral, ToMan disbands and Mikey assures them that the good spirit of the gang will always be with them. Kakucho, who survived the previous cause, visited the place where he met Izana to put up an emblem for her friend’s funeral.
Kokonoi forges a new path and reconciles with Inui. Hanma now lives as a fugitive after he and Kisaki became international criminals for the murder of Emma. Takemichi finally proposes to Hinata marriage 12 years later, which she accepts. Returning to a now peaceful present, Takemichi arrives at Hayashida’s wedding ceremony with her friends, before Takemichi and Hinata’s wedding begins in a few months.
After congratulating Hayashida on her wedding, Takemichi realizes that Mikey is not present. He later learns that he is the leader of a dangerous gang called Bonten. A few days before his marriage to Hina, Takemichi looks for Mikey to deliver an invitation to his wedding, but Mikey responds by shooting him point-blank.
He later tries to commit suicide by throwing himself from a building but an injured Takemichi holds his hand telling him that he is going to save him. Takemichi immediately goes back in time, this time in 2008. There he learns that Mikey is the leader of a band called Kanto Manji and Draken is a member of another band called Brahma, whose leader Senju Kawaragi intends to recruit Takemichi.
He agrees to join Brahman, as they share the same goal: destroy Kanto Manji and get Mikey back. The next day, Senju goes shopping accompanied by Takemichi, where she reveals that his real name is Senju Akashi and that her older brother Takeomi is vice president of the band. He further mentions that his other older brother Haruchiyo (former ToMan member) is now part of Kanto Manji.
At the moment of saying goodbye to her after finishing the shopping, Takemichi has a vision of the future where Senju is dying and she tells him that she kept her promise to protect him. Later Takemichi meets with Draken, who tells him about Mikey’s situation in the future.
Draken considers that Mikey kept his promise to protect his friends and Hina’s future in exchange for becoming a villain and the two vow to get Mikey back. Days later, on July 7, Senju introduces Takemichi as a new member of Brahman and announces that on July 14 they will face Kanto Manji and another band called Rokuhara Tandai.
That same night, Senju asks Takemichi to go with her to the amusement park, where he mentions that after defeating Kanto Manji and Rokuhara Tandai, Brahman will become “the greatest organization”. At the moment of leaving the place, Senju tells Takemichi to be friends, and the two shake hands.
At that moment Takemichi has that vision again where Senju is dying, only this time he realizes that the event occurs in the same amusement park where they are on a rainy night. When Takemichi comes to, he realizes that it has started to rain, which means that the event will occur in the present.
Meanwhile, Inui warns Draken that some members of Rokuhara Tandai are heading toward Takemichi to assassinate him. Senju realizing that, goes to Takemichi to protect him, but this one, knowing that Senju will die, throws himself on her to save her while one of Rokuhara begins to shoot.
At that moment Draken arrives and manages to save Takemichi and Senju and Rokuhara’s escape. Draken tells Takemichi that it was Rokuhara’s faction that had ordered the attack, due to their reputation and that the war between gangs will no longer be like before.
Takemichi tells Draken that they had managed to change the future together and that he could see Senju’s death. When Senju proposes to leave the place, Takemichi realizes that Draken is no longer moving and he collapses on the floor, since he received the shots that were aimed at Takemichi and Senju.
Draken, after telling Takemichi to take care of Mikey, dies from the injuries. At that time, Takeomi and the rest of Brahman arrive at the park upon learning of Draken’s death, but Rokuhara Tandai’s also arrives, ready to crush Brahman. But suddenly Mikey appears, along with the rest of Kanto Manji, initiating a confrontation between the three gangs.
